VAT accounting

  • The VAT return must be submitted at altinn.no six times a year (every other month) from 10. February. The first deadline for the current year cycle is April 10. Most enterprises must submit the tax return for VAT every other month. Small enterprises (turnover of less than NOK 1 million) can apply to submit once a year.
  • However, once you have sold services for more than NOK 50,000 within a 12-month period must you register in the VAT Register. You cannot add VAT on your sales until you have registered the enterprise in the VAT Register.
  • Everyone who is registered in the VAT (Value added tax) register will receive a message for tax return in Altinn inbox approximately 40 days before the filing deadline. Here, you will see the KID number and account number for any payment that is due.

My hourly rate and payment

  • When you set your hourly rate, the minimum is 227,54kr/hour, regulated after the tariff rate for cleaners. As an example, if you set 200,00kr per hour then the customer will see a price of 300,00kr per hour, this includes VAT and operating cost of the service. Here you get 200,00kr + 50,00kr (VAT is 25% ie 50,00kr.) If you are not VAT registered yet, ie sales below 50 000 per 12 months, the price to the customer will be 250,00kr/hour if you have set 200,00kr/hour. Then you get paid 200kr/hour and no VAT.
  • You are responsible for paying taxes and VAT on what you earn. And you yourself are responsible for checking off for VAT registration in the app and applying for VAT registration with Altinn as soon as you reach 50,000 in sales for your company. A good overview of your sales can be found in the earnings page in the app. And you will also receive monthly reports by email from the payment service provider that you use for reporting earnings to Altinn (government agencies).
  • Payment for work: All work is paid out to your bank account 7 days after the work was performed.

Calendar

  • Set your desired start and end time in the calendar, select days you may not want requests, or times of the day you do not want requests. If you set every Monday of every week, you can choose to repeat this working time for all days of the week. NB! If you choose free time in the middle of the day, this can quickly stop requests for longer assignments. If you want as many jobs as possible, make yourself available as much as possible. Calendar can be set 5 weeks ahead.

Meeting the customer

  • Precise attendance is important. If you see that you are not able to do this, notify and communicate well with the customer. If missing job description from customer, contact by chat and ask what they want to get done. If you are uncertain about things around the work, talk to the customer. Rather do more than too little if it is time for this. This increases the likelihood of being booked again.
  • The customer should have the necessary equipment for performing the job available.
  • A good profile:
  • Have a picture of yourself. Describe your experience and qualifications. Be honest, but still not modest so the customer knows what to expect.

General information about the assignment

  • Start of assignments: You can set yourself as “on my way” in progress tab in app, navigation is also possible here. Clarify with the customer in advance about access, whether they are at home or whether they provide information on key / access.
  • Start the job in on the Progress page in the app (If you forgot to put on my way' then you can complete the steps when you're done, but the job must be started and completed to be registered.)
  • Complete job on the progress page in the app so that we register the assignments and can pay you for the job.
  • For first time work, it will be normal for a customer to order for "one time" Once you have completed this assignment, the customer can order again for "Weekly", "Every second week", or "Monthly" so that you can set up a running contract job for this customer.
  • If you do not have the opportunity to show up for a job, notify the customer as early as possible and arrange another time for assignments.
  • If the customer is not satisfied with the job talk to the customer and try to come to a solution, it is recommended that you go back if this is desirable from the customer. If the customer has been unreasonable with booked hours in comparison with the size of the job then it is important that this is communicated during the work, sooner the better. Here, the customer can add an hour if you are available on a calendar, or re-book (min. 2 hours) if this is not possible.

Insurance

  • As a home cleaner you must have your own liability insurance. This covers that you will not be held responsible if an accident should happen. Typically liability insurance for cleaners covers: - Your company's legal liability for physical damage to a person or thing. - Financial loss as a result of a covered physical injury. - Legal aid for processing claims for damages covered by the insurance. Tryg has favorable agreements on insurance with good conditions for you who do cleaning, apply for liability insurance here: https://www.tryg.no/bedrift/forsikringer/alminnelig-ansvarsforsikring.html#alminnelig_ansvar
